Distal limb development and effects of shoeing techniques on limb dynamics of today’s equine athlete
by M.C.V. van Heel
This book studies the development of conformation, especially distal limb conformation and quantifies the effects of trimming and shoeing techniques for today’s equine athlete based on measurements with the footscan® system. This work covers the following main topics : the development of the distal limb and the importance of overall body conformation, quantification of balance characteristics and the effects of trimming and shoeing, and science-based development of horseshoeing.
