The use and interpretation of plantar pressure measurements during running
by Anneleen De Cock
This book provides a better insight in foot biomechanics during barefoot running based on the use and interpretation of plantar pressure measurements. To gain those insights, plantar pressure date were obtained for 220 subjects to provide a reference dataset for plantar pressure variables during barefoot running. Based on those variables, four dynamic foot types were classified and a functional interpretation of the foot-ground interaction during stance phase of running has been done. The footscan® pressure measurement system was used to measure the plantar pressure distribution underneath the foot during running.
